Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) announced Benjamin Quinn as the new director of the L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture (CFC), effective June 1. Quinn has taught at SEBTS since 2012 and currently serves as associate professor of theology and history of ideas. Since 2022 he has served as the associate director of the CFC.
“Dr. Quinn is the ideal successor to lead the CFC,” said Provost Scott Pace. “His ability to engage cultural issues from a biblical and theologically informed perspective, coupled with his commitment to personally invest in students and equip local churches, will continue to expand the center’s impact for the cause of Christ.”
Quinn’s predecessor, Ken Keathley, has faithfully served as the director of the CFC since 2012, playing a pivotal role in shaping its culture and mission to where it is today. Upon stepping down from this position, he is transitioning to the role of research professor.
Reflecting on Keathley’s leadership, Quinn said, “For twelve years, Dr. Keathley has capably and wisely led the L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture, helping students, staff, and churches think carefully about the relationship between our Christian confession and our life in the world. Through podcasts, blogs, lectures, and conferences, Dr. Keathley has served as a model of humility and charity. It has been an honor to serve with Dr. Keathley the past three years and an honor to carry on the important work of the CFC in the years ahead.”
Pace also expressed his gratitude for Keathley’s many years of service, remarking on how “Dr. Keathley’s leadership has helped to establish the Center for Faith and Culture as a trusted source and voice for issues that are critical for Great Commission engagement. His theological expertise, local church experience, and distinguished excellence have all been instrumental in the success of the center.”
As Quinn steps into this new role, he brings with him years of teaching, ministry, and administrative experience and a passion for equipping believers to live out their faith in every aspect of their lives. In addition to serving as associate professor and now director of the CFC, Quinn is also the lead pastor at Holly Grove Baptist Church.
Keathley commented on Quinn’s appointment to this role, saying, “I am delighted that Dr. Quinn will be the next director of the L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture. Over the past three years, Dr. Quinn has faithfully served as associate director, demonstrating his deep commitment to the mission of the center.”
Keathley also expressed his confidence in Quinn’s leadership abilities and noted Quinn’s scholarship in Augustinian and Kuyperian thought, which make him well-suited for the role. “I have full confidence that under his direction the Bush Center will not only continue to flourish but will launch out to make an even bigger impact.”
